Superstar makeup artist Pat McGrath launched her first-ever beauty product at the Jardins des Tuileries at Paris Fashion Week yesterday. Gold 001, a gold-foil-looking makeup dust, has a metallic finish that can be used to play up eyes, lips, and skin by giving it a warm glow. And, yes, the looks she created on the models (including Bella Hadid) were bold, but that’s what we’ve come to expect from McGrath.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the dust in action. She also used it on the lips on the Prada runway last week, and also on Kim Kardashian for a recent Cleopatra-inspired makeup shoot. Adding on to the fact that actress Zoe Kravitz covered in gold body paint at Kanye’s concert over the weekend, you’ve got yourself a full-on Midas-touch moment happening as we speak. Could this be the next step beyond strobing and metallic temporary tattoos? We’re betting yes. The makeup artist rarely misses when it comes to trends.
The plan is to release 1000 limited-edition units of the Gold 001 later this month on patmcgrath.com so keep an eye out for it.
