To be or not to be, that is the question when it comes to natural beauty. The word ‘natural’ has so many connotations in our modern society. Being a natural product consumer has elevated to the level of organic and beyond. Why not organically grow your own personalized make up products tailor made for your specific skin needs, by who else, but you!
The concept of people creating their own life, whether as an entrepreneur or for their own personal lifestyle is growing rapidly therefore, why not jump on the bandwagon? We have already tapped into the world of making our own DIY skin and hair care products with ingredients such as the beloved coconut oil. With the help of the internet and our local grocery store we can now purchase our own supplies to start formulating our own products.
So lets get right to it!
Before we take a dive right in, I must say that I love the concept of being creative based on what is needed for me in the moment I am formulating a recipe. The weather is a wonderful expression of what my skin requires. With the change of seasons and weather patterns, living in New York can be harsh on my skin . Here’s a recipe to create a bronzer with healing properties that will add color and soothe the skin.
Here is a simple and toxic free formula:
1/2 teaspoon of organic arrowroot powder (wound/acne healer)
1/2 teaspoon of organic arjuna powder (auyrvedic astrignent)
1/2 teaspoon of organic hibiscus powder (antioxidant)
1/2 teaspoon of cocoa powder (anti-inflammatory)
2 drops of lavender essential oil
An air tight container for storage
*The amounts vary by person, for a dark complexioned person, you may adjust the powders by adding more or less based on the color tone of your skin.
*Suggested Supplier: Starwest Botanicals

I always say “If you can’t eat it, don’t put it on your skin”! So the products I create not only look amazing, but they ENHANCE the appearance of your skin WITHOUT any makeup, are 100% natural and smell good enough to eat 😉
